A Comparison Between Prokaryotic & Eukaryotic Cells

Image
There are various difference between Prokaryotic & Eukaryotic Cells. The difference between Prokaryotic & Eukaryotic cells are given below with their specipific characters :- read also :  Begining of The Life - The Cell : A Discovery  Sr. No. Characters Prokaryotic Cells Eukaryotic Cells 01 Cell Wall Present and It is composed of amino sugars and muramic acid Absent in animal cells but present in plant cells which is composed of cellulose 02 Plasma membrane Present Present 03 Capsule If present then it is composed of mucopolysaflagccharides Absent 04 Membrane bound organelles Absent Present a E.R. Absent Present b Golgi complex Absent Present c Lysosomes Absent Present d Mitochondria Absent Present e Vacuole Absent Vacuoles are present in plant cell 05 Photosynthetic Apparatus Usually found in the form of membrane with chlorophyll A and bacteriophyll Chloroplasts with chlorophyll A and B in plant cells & fungi cells 06 Nucleus Absent Present a Nuclear Membrane Abse...

Eukaryotic Cell : Characteristic in brief

Image
Eukaryotic is a Greek word, made up by two words that is   Eu  means true and   karyon  means nucleus, that means which cell possess true nucleus , called Eukaryotic Cells. These cells are irregular, translucent masses of cytoplasm containing a nucleus. Structurally cell consists of mainly protoplasm which is made of two parts – 1. Cell wall  & 2. Cytosome. read more :  World Heritage Sites of India - Part 2 Characteristic of Eukaryotic Cells 1. Cell    Wall Cell wall is absent in animal cells but present in plant cells which is hard, rigid non-elastic and quite porous. This is the outermost bounding membrane. It consists of an external thin primary wall and a thick inner secondary wall. The primary walls of the two adjacent cells are often separated by the middle lamella. The middle lamella is formed first by the secretion of cell. The middle lamella is composed of viscous, gelatinous material, the pectin. The primary wall is secreted against...

Prokaryotic Cell : Characteristics in brief

Image
As the name indicates , Prokaryotic Cells means Primitive Cells. Prokaryotic is a Greek word which is made up of two words   pro  means primitive and  karyon  means nucleus that means the cells who have Primitive Nucleus in nature are called Prokaryotic Cell. This includes bacteria, viruses, blue-green algae etc. read also :  Agriculture, It's Various Types And Crops Characteristic of The Prokaryotic Cells These are usually single celled organisms or unicellular. There is a lake of definite nucleus prokaryotic cells. A gram negative cell wall enclosed the cytoplasm. A nucleoid or nuclear region in found in cytoplasm in which the naked chromosome of DNA is found. The bacterial chromosome is a single circular molecule of naked DNA which is tightly   coiled with the nuceloid. Certain bacteria contain a small extrachromosomal circular DNA called a plasmid which act as    accessory chromosome. Genetic material is located on a single chromosom...

Begining of The Life - The Cell : A Discovery

Image
The cell is a unit of any living organisms. In animals and plants it is basic unit from which life originates, however few organisms posses only one cell. Definition :   The cell is the basic structural and functional unit of all forms of life. Various cell organelles embedded in the cytoplasm which is enclosed with the cell membrane.   The study of Cell Biology is called as  Cytology.   Cytology is originates from a Greek word –  kytos  which means hollow vessel or cell and  logous  means to discource. ·          The term cell was first used by Robert Hooke in 1965 on his investigation of the ‘texture of cork’. Robert Hooke is known as the  father of the Cytology. George Emil Palade is widely known as the  father of modern Cell Biology. The word cell is originates from a greek word –  cella  which means a small chamber. The cell is fundamental structural unit of organisms. Previously the...
