Shifting Cultivation Shifting Cultivation is that agriculture, in which forest or bushes are cleared by fire and cultivated in it. When the fertility of the soil of that field ends, then leaving that place, farming is started again at a new place. It is also called 'slash and burn' or 'bush and fellow' agriculture.
